TX Dental Assistant Registration Course & Exam September 10, 2010

Houston Dental Assistant School is pleased to present the TSBDE approved Dental Assistant registration course and exam on Friday, September 10, 2010 in cooperation with the Texas Academy of General Dentistry and Dr. Robert Cooley.

State Board Registration is REQUIRED of all Texas Dental Assistants who take x-rays after September 1, 2007. To become registered, you will need to take and pass a TSBDE approved course and examination covering required objectives in Jurisprudence, Infection Control and Radiology. New hires have one year from the date of hire to register provided any x-rays taken are under the direct supervision of a Dentist.

The goal of the Texas Academy of General Dentistry's Dental Assistant Course is to provide sufficient information to permit dental assistants to gain knowledge and understanding of the critical concepts associated with each of these areas of certification in order to facilitate success in the examination. Dr. Robert Cooley will review all relevant topics and objectives and prepare students to pass the written exit exam, which will be given immediately following the course. You must obtain a 70% score on the exam to pass, and are allowed to retake the exam once without further fees if you do not pass the first time.

Course Objectives: All dental assistants who take xrays are required to take and pass a TSBDE approved course and exam covering required objectives in Jurisprudence, Infection Control and Radiology. Dr. Robert Cooley, an expert in the field with extensive knowledge of state board rules and regulations, will help you gain knowledge and understanding of the critical concepts associated with each of these areas of certification in order to facilitate success on the certification exam. The exam will be given immediately following the course.

Date: Friday, September 10, 2010 Time: Registration - 7:30 a.m.

Course & Exam - 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The exam will be administered immediately following the course.

Fees: $150 for AGD Staff Members

$150 for HDAS Network Members

$175 for Non Members

Register Early: We anticipate a full class so register early.

Notes: Must bring a photo ID (driver’s license) for the course and exam.

Registration fee includes complimentary refreshments and lunch. Breaks will be provided.

Cancellation Policy: A $25 processing fee will be assessed on all cancellations. Cancellation requests must be received in writing at HDAS by 5:30 p.m. on September 6, 2010. After that date no refunds will be given.
