Everything students ask us about the 10-week Registered Dental Assistant program — cost, schedule, what you need to enroll, and how licensing works. If your question isn't here, call or text us.
The curriculum is built around what you'll actually do chairside, so nothing is padded out. Classes are held inside a working dental office rather than a lecture hall, which means most of your time is spent doing the work instead of reading about it.
Lectures are on-demand, so you watch them around your own schedule, and Saturdays are reserved for hands-on lab practice.
Ten weeks. Each week is 4–5 hours of on-demand lecture plus a 4-hour Saturday lab, so roughly 80 to 90 hours of instruction in total.
After you finish, you take the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners exam to become a Registered Dental Assistant.
Online, on your schedule:
In person, every Saturday:
It means you practice in the room you'll eventually work in, on the equipment you'll eventually use. The online lectures give you the knowledge on your own time; the Saturday labs turn it into muscle memory.
More than 30 licensed instructors teach across our campuses, all of them working dental professionals.
No. Most students start with none at all. You're expected to show up, study, and give it your best.
The Texas State Board of Dental Examiners sets the minimum requirement: a high school diploma, GED, or college transcript with at least 12 credit hours. If your diploma is from outside the United States, it needs validation through a service such as SpanTran.
$3,550, all in.
That covers everything you need to become a Registered Dental Assistant: your healthcare provider CPR certification, textbook, study guides, and the TSBDE-approved RDA exam. No hidden fees.
If paying all at once doesn't work, there are two weekly payment plans. See the payment options.
No. Your textbook, study guide, and all supplies are included in tuition, along with your CPR training and the state registration exam.
You'll need to wear scrubs to lab, and a light jacket or sweater is a good idea. We provide all PPE.
You graduate from HDAS at the end of the 10 weeks. To become a Registered Dental Assistant in Texas, you then need to pass the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners exam.
The exam is taken online and it's included in your tuition. Alongside the main curriculum, we run dedicated lectures and provide study guides aimed specifically at passing it.
Three things:
