About the $305 plan fee

What it's worth

$47,300 Median annual pay for dental assistants
Under 1 month Of median pay covers the full $3,550
6% Projected job growth, 2024–2034
52,900 Openings projected each year

At the national median, one month's pay more than covers the entire cost of the program — and you're earning ten weeks after you start, not two years.

How that compares

When you compare dental assistant program costs, the number that matters isn't the headline tuition — it's what you pay in total, and how long before you're earning.

The career

Why dental assisting is worth the investment

It isn't only about what the program costs — it's about what it gets you.

Steady, growing demand

Dental assistant roles are projected to grow 6% through 2034, with about 52,900 openings a year nationally. People need dentists in every economy.

Earning in ten weeks

Not two years, and not four. You finish in ten Saturdays and start drawing a wage while people who chose a degree route are still in their first semester.

A credential, not just a job

Registered Dental Assistant is a state credential. It travels with you between practices, and it's the reason a trained assistant isn't competing with untrained applicants.

Work that matters

You're beside the dentist for every procedure and often the person a nervous patient remembers. Few jobs at this training length put you that close to the work.

Questions about cost

How much does dental assistant school cost in Houston?

At HDAS, $3,550 — covering the full 10-week program, books, supplies, BLS certification and the TSBDE state exam. Other dental assistant classes in Houston often quote a lower tuition and bill books, supplies and the exam separately, so compare the total rather than the headline.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes, in full, if you cancel before your session starts. It holds your seat; it doesn't lock you in.

Do you offer financial aid?

We're not a Title IV school, so federal aid doesn't apply. The payment plan is our answer instead — no lender, no credit check, and you graduate owing nothing.

What if I miss a weekly payment?

It's retried automatically over the following days, so a temporary hold usually sorts itself out. If your card has changed, call or text and we'll update it.

Can my employer pay?

Yes. Some Houston practices sponsor staff through the program. Call us and we'll invoice them directly.

Is the state exam really included?

Yes — both the TSBDE registration course and the exam itself. You take it after graduation, and it's already paid for.

Are there any other fees?

Only the $305 if you use a payment plan, and only if a balance carries into your session. Nothing else, at any point.
