I loved this RDA program because it thoroughly prepares you for a career in the dental field. You earn your BLS certification, build your resume, learn interview techniques, and even take the state exam as part of the program. Debbie and the other instructors are fantastic! They support you every step of the way through quizzes and hands-on experience in a real dental office.
The teachers are lovely; Debbie pays attention to you the whole time, even for the simplest things. I would definitely take the course again. And Nancy is the best too.
I just want to say how wonderful this experience of my schooling was. My instructors — Mrs. Debbie, Mrs. Nancy, Mrs. Kitty and Ms. Nikki — were absolutely amazing in how they let us understand everything so naturally and thoroughly. Not only are they passionate about what they are teaching, they let you gradually take everything at your own pace. This was a blissful, positive and wonderful experience and I would recommend everyone to try it out.

Every lab runs inside a working dental office, with four or five students per instructor.
Job hunting isn't something we bolt on at the end — it runs through the middle of the course, while you're still learning.
We start in week 3 and keep working on it through week 6 — including how to find the roles that never get advertised.
What practices actually ask, and how to answer when you're new. You'll have practised before you need it.

Debbie has led The Woodlands campus since 2015, longer than anyone at HDAS. She brings a deep working knowledge of dental assisting and takes real pride in watching students find their footing.

Mon–Sat, 9am–6pm CT. Admissions is virtual, so call or text any time — outside those hours our virtual assistant answers most questions straight away and we follow up personally.
Because class is one day a week, a longer Saturday drive is easier than it sounds. Our students come from as far as Cleveland, nearly 50 miles away — and tell us it's the least difficult part of the program.

No — we train dental assistants, not dental hygienists. Hygiene requires a two-year associate degree and a separate license. Dental assisting takes ten Saturdays here, and you work chairside alongside the dentist.
